This wine is deliciously complex, showing a fine bouquet of hazelnut, toast and honey developing into hues of lime and quince. It has a plump, full-bodied palate with remarkable persistence.

Chablis Grand Cru 2008, Vocoret Burgundy France - £44.00 

Grand Cru Blanchots produces wines that are amongst the most delicate, perfumed and stylish of all the Chablis Grand Crus. This medium-bodied example offers zesty, clean lemon fruit on the palate with rich undertones yet crisp acidity. 

Corton Charlemagne 2004 Louis Latour - £80.00

Compared with other Grand Cru white burgundy Corton-Charlemagne is surprisingly better value. It is no secret either that Latour produces some of the best examples. A massively unctuous wine with notes of ripe pear, vanilla and cinnamon. Drinking well now.

Puligny-Montrachet Domaine Jomain Burgundy, France 2008 - £57.00

From a family-run estate that follows in the principles of ‘lutte raisonne’, ensuring that the use of chemicals in the vineyard is kept to a minimum. Hand-harvested grapes in oak barrels for 15 months give a rich, smooth wine showing notes of pear and hazelnut on the nose, and hints of vanilla and spice on the palate. Crisp and refreshing on the finish, it is best matched with roast poultry. 

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Marlborough N.Zealand  2009 - £41.00  

From the most prestigious vineyard in New Zealand, comes a wine full of fresh herbal aromas and layers of ripe guava and passion fruit. Medium bodied, the palate is succulent and crisp with a long flavoursome finish. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at its most refined.  

Sancerre ‘Les Romains’, Vacheron 2008 - £47.00

The ‘Les Romains’ vineyard was selected to produce a special Cuvée because of its sought-after flint soil, which lends a delicate mineral quality to the wine. Half the wine is matured in oak casks and half in stainless tanks. The resulting blend has great depth and complexity whilst retaining the delicious freshness of the fruit.

Condrieu 'La Doriane' 2008 E.Guigal - £49.00

Made from 100% Viognier grapes, picked from mature vines on steeply-sloped terraced vineyards. The wine is both fermented and aged exclusively in new French oak for a total of 9 months, giving it Condrieu's trademark fullness of texture and fleshy roundness. Intensely aromatic, with a complex bouquet of peach, apricot and white flowers.
